Eligibility
Exam Sites
CIC has over 250 exam sites. Register online today at Active Sites. There are additional Available Sites in all 50 states that can be up and ready for your exam within six weeks. You may also apply to have On-Site Exams at your location. Assuming that your location meets the requirements, CIC will provide examiners at your site to administer written and/or practical exams. Qualifying people can also conduct their own practical exams.

CIC currently offers written and practical exams at the following locations. Written sites provide electronic or paper exams.
Please note that Rigging/Signalperson certification can be completed at any written site.

Many other sites can be available to you. CIC can have a Written Exam site available in any of the following cities with a six-week advanced notice.

On-Site Exams
For your convenience, CIC will conduct exams at your site if the site meets basic exam site requirements and you provided a minimum of 3 weeks advanced notice.
For written exams, CIC will provide examiners to conduct the exams in a fair and objective fashion while allowing you to focus on your business. The price is $295 for groups of 1 to 30 persons, taking up to two tests each (i.e., crane operator certification test with General Knowledge and one supplements or Rigger & Signalperson certifications). For groups up to 30, taking three or more certification exams, the flat fee is $595. Prices quoted are per day; per group. Exams may be for any combination of certifications – crane operator, advanced rigger or basic rigger with signalperson.
Practical exams are provided by individuals that meet the practical examiner qualifications and that successfully train and pass the examiner course and tests. Practical examiners may be independent examiners that set their own rate, or in-house examiners for your organization.
To provide exams at your site simply:
- Contact CIC at least 3 weeks prior to the desired exam date:
- If the site is not yet approved, complete and return the site application for written and/or practical exams, and indicate if you need an on-site written examiner, the desired dates, and the exam(s) to be given.
- If the site is already approved, email Help@4roi.com with the requested location, date, and exams to be given.
- CIC will confirm site acceptance and written examiner availability for the desired dates; and collect the written examiner fee.
- Your site coordinates and pays the practical examiners and registers candidates online. See the lists of Crane Operator and Advanced Rigger Practical Examiners at the bottom of this page that are available for you to contact.
Please note that there may be additional costs to get examiners to extremely remote sites. CIC will notify you in advance of these circumstances and will do its best to support your needs. The Qualified Rigger and Qualified Signalperson - Basic exam counts as two exams.
