Practical Examiner - Responsibilities

The Practical Examiner is hired on an as needed basis by CIC-approved exam sites in need of exam administration. CIC Practical Examiners manage the practical exam process on exam day. CIC Practical Examiners are responsible for ensuring consistent and rigorous compliance with procedures before, during, and after administering a CIC Practical Exam. 

CIC Practical Examiners are responsible for the following:

  • Inspecting the exam site to verify safe site conditions, proper crane setup, and accurate course layout
  • Understanding the roles of the Exam Site Coordinator, Proctor, CIC and 4ROI and work with them collaboratively
  • Providing Proctor instructions and training
  • Conducting Candidate check-in and providing exam related instructions to Candidates on exam day
  • Conducting the Practical Exam
  • Maintaining exam security throughout the exam process
