History
Crane Institute of America, Inc. was founded in 1987 as one of the first companies in the U.S. to offer certifications on a national level. Crane Institute has trained and/or certified more than 80,000 equipment operators, inspectors, supervisors, trainers, and riggers.
As a result of their commitment to the industry, in 2007 Crane Institute of America founded Crane Institute Certification (CIC), a completely independent entity to provide objective and impartial assessment of crane operator knowledge, skills and abilities.
CIC's nationally accredited certification program is the result of the input and experience of a broad range of subject matter experts and assessment professionals from crane-related companies and industry groups.
Crane Institute of America has maintained consistent leadership in crane operator certifications and is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2012.
