Become a Written Examiner

CIC Authorized Chief Written Examiners are independent exam administrators located throughout the US willing to drive to an exam site and conduct exams.

If you have previous experience administering written examinations or maintaining quality and/or security standards within an organization you may apply to become a CIC Authorized Chief Written Examiner.

Chief Written Examiners are responsible for giving the written exams associated with CIC certification. To administer the Practical Exam, become a Practical Examiner.

The process is easy to follow:

  1. Review the Qualifications and Responsibilities
  2. Complete and submit a Chief Examiner Application
  3. Successfully complete the CIC Chief Examiner Training and test

You should apply to become a Chief Examiner at least six weeks in advance of the first exam you plan to give.

Upon completion of all the requirements you will be authorized to administer exams for five years with periodic audits by CIC to ensure ongoing compliance with our standards. To maintain accreditation Authorized Chief Written Examiners must administer at least ten exams each year.

Authorized Chief Written Examiners are paid $25 per hour of exam administration. For sites more than 100 miles from examiner’s home travel costs may be paid but must be approved in writing by CIC in advance. Payment is sent following 4ROI's receipt of exam materials from your exam session.
