Written Exam Site Preparation

Here are the main things that are necessary to prepare the exam facility for the day of the exam.

Provide directions to the exam:

  • Post signs directing candidates to location of the exam
  • Post signs for and set up sign-in area with reception area

Set up the exam room:

  • Ensure that there is only one entrance to the exam room.  Candidates must enter and exit through a single door
  • Adequate space for Proctors to walk and observe candidates easily
  • Seating at the front of the room for Proctors
  • Ensure there are enough tables and chairs for the number of candidates registered 
  • Arrange all seats facing the same direction with spacing of at least four feet from center of desk to center of proximal desks or equivalent, if using long tables
  • Rows of candidates should sit directly behind one another
  • Ensure a functioning clock is visible at the front of the room
