Chief Written Examiner Responsibilities
The Traveling Chief Written Examiner is hired on an as-needed basis by CIC-approved exam sites in need of written exam administration. CIC Traveling Chief Written Examiners manage the written exam process on exam day. The examiner is responsible for maintaining professional standards of testing practices throughout the process.
The overall responsibilities of the Traveling Chief Written Examiner include:
- Maintaining strict security of the exam materials before, during, and after the exam
- Coordinating with the Exam Site Coordinator concerning schedules
- Strictly following exam procedures as described in the Written Exam Administration Instructions provided to them prior to the exam.
- Receiving exam materials, storing them securely until the exam, and bringing them to the exam site.
- Checking that the exam room is set up properly
- Conducting the Proctor Training
- Checking-in candidates
- Actively monitoring and timing groups of 3-30 adult candidates in a classroom-type stetting with the assistance of a proctor
- Ensuring all exam materials are collected at the end of each exam
- Returning exam materials to 4ROI using the secure shipping materials provided
