Chief Written Examiner Qualifications
Chief Written Examiners must have the qualifications to securely and objectively conduct CIC Written Exams. Experience in proctoring a test is important, crane knowledge is not.
Crane operators, riggers or trainers of crane operators or riggers are NOT eligible to be Chief Written Examiners or written exam Proctors, please use one of the many test centers CIC has established, or contact CIC at least 3 weeks in advance to schedule independent proctors for onsite exams.
Below is a summary of the requirements to become a Chief Written Examiner.
- Three or more years of experience administering written examinations in a high stakes or secure setting, or
- Three or more years of experience maintaining quality and/or security standards within an organization
- Is not currently employed, a contractor or affiliated with organizations in the crane or rigging industry
- Complete a Chief Written Examiner Application and have it approved
- Successfully complete the free CIC Chief Written Examiner training session and test
- Provide a current photo
Based on the Chief Examiner Application CIC will review your qualifications to be trained as a CIC Chief Examiner.
Chief Examiners retain their authorization for up to five (5) years by conducting a minimum of 10 CIC Written Exams each year.
